Mechanical Valves
Within this section you'll find mechanical roller and plunger operated valves, they are commonly known as 'Mechanically Operated Pneumatic Valves'. Pneumatic roller lever actuated valves are used for mechanical position sensing within machine automation, the valve is operated by moving machine parts which strike against the roller lever, in-turn causing the valve to operate. The roller wheel is sited at the end of the lever arm and rotates in the direction of the moving part; this reduces friction and the wear and tear of both the roller lever and the moving machine part, for this reason they are a preferred mechanical method of sensing moving parts. Plunger actuated valves are normally used where direct contact is necessary, for example, as a shut-off limit switch for the unauthorised operation of doors.
