Kuhnke 79 & 81 Series Air Jet Detector Valves.
Air Jet detector valves are used for contact sensing of parts and tools, they are often used for sensing delicate components. A stream of air is sent from a nozzle, as an object touches off the nozzle, the stream of air is blocked causing back pressure which operates the valve. Two types of nozzle are offered - a fixed nozzle, or an M5 Female threaded nozzle which also requires the use of an M5 tube nipple, hose and nozzle (part 43.138).
A characterised feature of this type of valve is a hardened, cut stainless steel spool and sleeve. The spool and sleeve are mated together during the machining process to create a precision fit. A light lubricating oil allows the spool to slide effortlessly within the sleeve, no seals are required therefore a mechanical life expectancy averaging 100 million cycles can be achieved.
Valves are highly reliable when used within clean environments; they are particularly suited for use in medical, dentistry and laboratory equipment. Air jet detector valves are M5 ported, available as a 3/2 way or a 5/2 way valve configuration.
