Kuhnke 60.006 (DW20S) Adjustable Pressure or Vacuum Switch.
The high sensitivity pressure wave switch from Kuhnke is used to detect low pressures from 3 to 30 mbar or vacuum. The switch can be set to operate with negative or positive pressure. A diaphragm operated switch offers fast response times and as such switching frequencies of up to 25Hz can be achieved.
Function: Impact generates pressure within a rubber profiled hose, the impact pressure is transferred via tubing to the pressure wave switch. An internal diaphragm senses the pressure build-up and the electrical contacts close. Bus and train doors, parking barriers, traffic counting, roller gates and light switches within explosive areas are excellent examples of use.
The switch provides connectivity for pneumatic tubing. There are two M3 threaded holes in the base for mounting the device to a flat surface which should be free from vibration.
A set of contacts rated 1A @ 220V AC operate when the connected pressure or vacuum reaches a set point. The contacts are constructed of hard silver (Ag) to ensure an excellent service life.
The sensitivity of the switch can be regulated to any level within a wide range. The operating temperature range is -15°C to +70°C, subject to moisture removal.
A set screw allows for temperature imbalances, setting the adjustment screw to a fully home position gives the highest sensitivity. With the adjustment screw in a full out position the switch offers temperature and pressure balance but with reduced switching sensitivity.
