Holding Solenoids
Holding solenoids are solenoids without moving parts; upon energising, they attract any ferromagnetic material which is kept in place while powered, then released upon de-energising.
They are used for manipulating items into place to ensure correct location, on conveyor lines, or for pick and place machines that require a quick, reliable and robust response upon a given signal. Compact by design, they are often used within security or safety applications, for example, door holding or entry systems.
Due to the device having no moving parts, holding solenoids are suited to applications where a fast repetitive operation is required, eliminating wear and tear that would cause other mechanical devices to fail.
There are seven body sizes to choose from; the largest achieves up to 1,400N of holding force.
