Hengstler AC58 absolute rotary encoders are developed with Interbus technology, a widely available fieldbus protocol. Initially created by Phoenix Contact, the Hengstler AC58 absolute rotary encoder is immune to low noise and delivers high-speed transmission.

The Hengstler AC58 Interbus absolute rotary encoder has standard overall dimensions, including shaft and thread sizing, to achieve complete interchangeability with all other manufacturers.

Mounting options include synchro flange, spring tether, clamping flange, or square flange with resolutions up to 12-bit single-turn and 12-bit multi-turn. Shaft sizes are 6mm, 9.52mm and 10mm and hub-shaft sizes of 9.52mm, 10mm and 12mm, with protection class ratings of up to IP67.

The supply voltage is 10 to 30V DC; the Bus cover is radial with connectors, sealed cable exits, or axial/radial cables 1.5 metres in length terminated with M23 connectors.

Encoders are RoHS-compliant, UL-approved, and CE-marked.
